Quotidian Data (QD) is a research institute focused on advancing understanding of the socio-technical layers of knowledge production and stewardship especially related to data.
We are a Kenyan non-for-profit think tank headquartered in Nairobi with an office in San Francisco.
We are working towards a future where AI and data technologies are co-designed, developed, and governed in and by the places and people targeted. We are interested in data processes that restore, renew and revitalize communities’ own resources of knowledge, energy and materials, supporting them to be more resilient to economic and environmental shocks.
Angela Okune is a co-founder at Quotidian Data. Angela is interested in shifting notions of ethical scientific responsibility to “open up” knowledge held in tandem with considerations of data protection and privacy.
